1/2 a grapefruit changes insulin for 2 hours

Eat a grapefruit before your meals.

In a recent California study, doctors discovered that eating half a grapefruit before meals helped patients reduce their insulin levels for 2 hours after eating. The patients who ate the grapefruit before meals lost 1.6kg on average, compared to 0.3kg lost by the patients who were not given the grapefruit, making grapefruit 433% more effective at burning fat compared with dieting alone.

Step 2 HCG diet next 40 days

Well starting back after a three week break from my first 40 days on the HCG protocol diet. I thought it was pretty easy.

I went from 280 to 255 and then after two weeks of vacation where I was eating and drinking alot, I gained a total of 7 lbs back. Considering what I was eating, mash potatoes, pastas, loads of Italian food and drinking wine and beer.....Not bad at all.

Today I took my first shot for the protocol and am eating everything in site. I will say that I don't have the desire to just cram my face full of food. I know that doesn't sound very attractive but my pattern previously is to just grab something on the run and eat.

I guess it was because of all the Apples I ate on the diet, but I am hooked on them. I eat two or three organic apples a day. when we were up in wine country, central coast, I kept stopping buy these little organic Veggie and Fruit stands. Was really good how I was able to buy a couple pounds of apples and pears and really enjoy them.

Also when I was drinking the wines and doing tastings the crackers were a real turn off. Tasteless carbs are now really annoying.

Don't eat after 6:00

Eat your main dinner before 6:00. I know it will be difficult at first but the closer to 6:00 PM you eat the more likely you will get a drop in your sugar levels signaling time to go to bed.

I used to take this as a signal to grab a snack but now I use it as a signal to get a full nights sleep. When this occurs I can normally fall asleep pretty quickly.

When I get the grumbly stomach, where I feel a little empty I have a bout a 2 ounce serving of high quality protein. Either sliced skinless chicken breast or a couple small pieces of Filet.

Lean Protein, Grape fruit and Japanese green tea

Well as part of this eating experiment, Day 18 down 18 pounds I will report that I have had success with eating very lean protein.

I am eating white fish, sirloin steaks, and chicken breasts. I have spent a little more and purchased grass fed beef, wild fish and free range chicken.

Hopefully dodging the hormones that I normally get in these products is helping.


Grapefruit has been very helpful, my diet consists of two servings of fruit, either an apple or 1/2 of a grapefruit. I will mention that the grapefruits have made the weight loss a little easier. On both days I ate only grapefruit I lost 1/2 lb more.

The last note is that I have been drinking copious amounts of green Tea. This is freshly made Japanese green tea served over ice and sometimes with a squeeze of lemon. I think the caffeine helps to suppress my appetite and keep me from Sugar crashing.

Day 18 An apple a day

Well make it two apples a day. One in the morning and one in the evening. Organic.

Really helps curb the hunger. I have dropped 18 pounds and this is day 18.

Hurah.

I also drink Apple Cider Vinegar, Raw, unrefined three times a day with water followed by a baking soda gargle to save my teeth. Skin is seeming a little fresher and weight loss is not such a problem
